Did You Know?

October 18, 2011

In an article published by USA Today last month, almost 1 in 3 people in the US over the age of 13 own a smart phone. According to the article,  “that figure is expected to double by 2015.”

What are people doing on their phones?: “[S]martphone users are spending most of their time playing games, checking social networks, taking video, accessing maps and getting sports scores, according to digital research firm comScore.”

“The average user spends 81 minutes a day using mobile apps, more time than is spent Web browsing on a computer or other device, according to mobile analytics firm Flurry.”

Clearly people are already using mobile technology. How can we present the gospel there? Jesus Christ offers more than any app or browser. Let’s work to make him known in these arenas!

Jesus is Lord of All. This means all people and all technology.

So true! This is driving the majority of my future development efforts and I’m so proud to help take the Gospel into this arena.

  2. This is just confirmation that more ministries should be engaging not only in online promotion of the gospel but also mobile promotion of the gospel.

    No doubt!!!

I believe we must also keep in mind this cannot be a means to an end, only a tool to use to bring people into GOD’s kingdom.
Glad to be alive during this time as tech age grows.

IN HIM, Lord For Ever (LFE)

Some way it needs to reach teen too.How could it be done need to be researched and sought.Because now as mentioned the net usage starts at very young age and they follow the trends like fb, twitter, you tube etc.Its one thing for to present gospel on these platforms and it’s another one to lead a creative media /platform for teensactivities. How could that be done with anew oncept that they will buy readily.there is no natural inclination probably for the bad contents at that young age , but there is no guidence to go for the good either. So something that’staste good feel good should be created for the teens where they love to spend their time and get enriched.may sound hypothetical.it sounds so to me too.But children deserve better content better interaction on web

You make a good point Anil. It is important to have good godly content for TEENS. They are a large user group, and how we reach them had to be intentional.
